I have loved painting since childhood. As a teenager, I was placed in an adult class taught by instructors from the Chicago Art Institute. I went to college, but then married and had four sons in six years, I was a 110 percent mom and placed art on the back burner. When my kids went to college, so did I, graduating Magna Cum Laude with the emphasis on art. I began my career in pastels, entered a number of shows and won a number of awards, including the Pastel Society of America’s most prestigious award, one year’s study at the Art Students League Of New York. Living in Denver at the time, we worked that out. A representation of some of my pastels can be found in the “Sold” section.

I eventually turned to oils. loving Western Art, I studied some 50 weeks around the country with the finest, including those belonging to Cowboy Artists Of America, among them two weeks of Master Classes with Howard Terpning.. Many others, included Bettina Steinke, David Leffel, Jim Wilcox ,Ramon Kelly, Harley Brown and Quang Ho . I was a regular at the Denver Art Students League and, from Denver, made numerous trips to the Scottsdale Artist School. I have always especially loved the subject matter, horses, Native Americans, especially their children, cowboys and wildlife.. Manyl of my sold oil paintings can be viewed on my website.

I have been in a number of shows at the Cheyenne, Wy. Museum, wherein I sold a number of works and obtained collectors. I have been on the cover of Ranch and Country Magazine four times, the front and back cover of The New Mexico Guide, The Art In Colorado section of Western Art Collector and in the book, Art of The West. I have been in the national OPA and several regional Oil Painters Of America shows.

I was in the May Gallery in Scottsdale until it closed and currently am in Culturalpatina Gallery in Va. and Kelly’s Collectibles And Online Fine Art in Whitefish, Montana. In more recent years, I have preferred gallery representation over shows.

My first love has been wildlife { I was for a number of years a zoo docent) and Indian life, but as evidenced by Sections of my Website, I have expanded toward Contemporary and Abstract Painting as well. This takes me full circle to my original love of color and composition.

In 2014, we moved from Denver to Peoria, Az. to be around our large family.
